20th World Congress of Soil Science

Symphony of the Soil will be screened at the 20th World Congress of Soil Science in Jeju, Korea. Director Deborah Koons Garcia and Dr. Ignacio Chapela will present the film.

“Healthy Soil, Healthy Foods”, part of the MOFGA Lecture Series; a panel discussion featuring filmmaker Deborah Koons Garcia, organic farmer Eliot Coleman, and Aurora Provisions’ restaurateur Leslie Oster follows the screening.
The new book The Soil Underfoot: Infinite Possibilities for a Finite Resource will be launched at World Congress of Soil Science in Korea. Director/Producer Deborah Koons Garcia has a chapter in the book called “Seeing Soil” (about making the film Symphony of the Soil). Deborah will also present the film Symphony of the Soil at the World Congress with Dr. Igancio Chapela.

This eclectic, three-day festival– held the first weekend in May features a great selection of food films in an intimate setting, along with chefs, food activists and lively receptions and parties.
14 Pews is a non-profit dedicated to serving the cultural needs of our community by providing a forum to experience, discuss and celebrate the performing and media arts and to foster cross-cultural experiences.
